Dr. Hudson is a collaborative leader with over 20 years of experience enhancing the quality of education and student success in K-12 Public Schools and Higher Education.
Dr. Hudson has served as an educator and director at multiple education levels from early learning centers to higher education. Throughout her career, she has launched several initiatives to increase the academic rigor and retention of at-risk and minority students in STEM majors.
As the Crispus Attucks York Early Learning Center Director, she launched a STEM and Technology Initiative for diverse student populations.
During her time as the Program Coordinator and later Director of the York College Community Opportunity Scholarship Program, she restructured and elevated the Summer Bridge Jump Start Program to include a writing course for credit, Humanity Academy, civic, communication, and technological literacies to increase student preparedness, retention, persistence, and graduation rates. She additionally launched a sustainable STEM Academy that increased minority student retention in STEM majors. Her initiatives and efforts improved first-year to second-year retention rate to 90% (2013-2018) and the overall College Cohort GPA from 2.7 to 3.1 (2015-2018).
Dr. Hudson has been recognized for her outstanding service to students with a Developmental Educators Award, Women of Impact Award from York College of Pennsylvania, and HERS Women in Leadership Certificate from Bryn Mawr College, among others.
Dr. Hudson has also served on the board of several nonprofits and educational institutions, including the City of York Community Advisory Board, the Crispus Attucks Charter School, the Pennsylvania Association of Developmental Educators, and the YWCA of York, among others.
