With her guidance, I was given the opportunity to experience a comprehensive introduction to college life as a high school student while studying alongside undergraduates. My dual enrollment experience aided in my swift acclimation to college, which propelled my undergraduate success.
As a college student, she made sure my grades stayed exceptional, and she provided me with the necessary tools, facilities, and workshops to help with my scholastic goals. Throughout my undergraduate studies, I made the Dean's List on numerous occasions; I was taught how to write a resume; I learned how to network with various professionals in my community. Her hard work, dedication, and guidance as an educator greatly helped me to graduate with honors (Magna Cum Laude), and for that, I am grateful.
Now at the age of 24, I run a nonprofit that has a staff of 13 and an annual budget of $600,000. Without her, who knows where I'd be today.
To her, I was not just a number - but someone who was cared about and loved. She took joy in seeing me succeed. I always knew she was supporting me, both in terms of my academic endeavors and my overall wellbeing. She was someone I could go to about any problems I was having. I am extraordinarily grateful for the impact she had on my college experience.
